Photography is about talent and time. Talent expands what you can do. Time gets it done. And the more time you give a talented photographer, the better results you will get.
The following photo is an example of a time consuming technique known by some as light painting. It involves using a remote flash to highlight specific parts of an image from all different angles in multiple exposures then combining the best of each in Photoshop.
This photo is a composite of more than 40 images! It took over an hour to photograph and more than 4 hours of editing in post to create. But you can see it has more depth, more spark. It grabs your attention! This is one of my first attempts at the technique. It is very popular at this time and you likely have seen it being used in advertising and interior design magazines.
Obviously, when you invest more time, it will cost more to produce. But if your product is worth investing in, I highly recommend it. Interior designers and furniture makers especially should consider investing in the best.
